October 30, 2024 <br />1 <br />The regular meeting of the Everett City Council was called to order at 12:30 p.m., October 30, <br />2024, by President Schwab. <br />Upon roll call, it was found that Mayor Franklin and Council Members Fosse, Rhyne, Schwab, <br />Vogeli, Zarlingo, Bader, and Tuohy were present. <br />Council Member Bader led the Pledge of Allegiance. <br />Council Member Tuohy recited the land acknowledgement. <br />The minutes of the October 23, 2024, meeting were approved. <br />MAYOR <br />Mayor Franklin commented on her attendance at the soft opening of a new police academy in <br />Arlington last week and at the 30th anniversary celebration of Naval Station Everett this morning. <br />She also reminded everyone to turn in their ballots by next Tuesday. <br />PUBLIC COMMENT <br />The following members of the public spoke: Steve Reed and Ethan Pfahl. <br />COUNCIL <br />Council Member Tuohy commented on her attendance at the Council of Neighborhoods meeting <br />and wished everyone a Happy Halloween and safe trick-or-treating. <br />Council Member Rhyne reminded citizens that Boards and Commissions applications are due on <br />November 4 and ballots are due on Tuesday. <br />Council Member Vogeli requested additional information regarding the new police academy. <br />Police Chief John DeRousse provided clarification regarding the two academy assigned officers. <br />Council Member Fosse commented on her attendance at a few trunk-or-treat events.
