These <br /> comments address building issues only. Additional revisions or additions may be required by other <br /> departments (such as Utilities, Planning or Fire). All references refer to the (2015 International <br /> Building Code,) (2015 International Residential Code,) as amended by the State of Washington <br /> and/or Washington State Energy Code 2015 Edition, and adopted by the City of Everett, unless <br /> stated otherwise. <br /> In order for the processing of your application to continue, it will be necessary to <br /> provide the Building Division with two new complete sets of drawings reflecting the <br /> corrections requested. <br /> 1. The conversion of the Garage into living space requires that the existing walls, windows <br /> and floor meet the minimum requirements of the current Energy Code. R-21 is required in <br /> exterior walls and R-30 is required in the floor. Show how you will meet the requirements <br /> of the 2015 energy code on the plans and in section drawings. <br /> 2. Provide minimum R-10 rigid insulation at headers. Show on section drawings. <br /> 3. Provide insulation baffle over insulation at exterior walls. The baffle shall extend 6 inches <br /> vertically above batt insulation and 12 inches vertically above loosefill insulation. Show <br /> requirement on plans. Maintain minimum 1 inch clear air space over the insulation. <br /> 4. The specific requirements for the Energy Credits from Table 406.2 WSEC shall be shown on <br /> the plans.
