ORDINANCE NO. 1962 <br /> 1 An Ordinance relating to appeals to arbitration committee where <br /> 2 frame buildings have been condemned, and amending Ordinance No. 1260 <br /> 3 as amended by Ordinance No . 1917 of the City of Everett . <br /> 4 <br /> 5 THE CITY OF EVERETT DOES ORDAIN: <br /> 6 <br /> Section 1 : That Section 176 of Ordinance No . 1260, as amended by <br /> 7 <br /> Ordinance NO. 1917 of the City of Everett be, and the same is, here- <br /> 8 <br /> by amended to read as follows : <br /> 9 <br /> "Section 176: whenever the Building Inspector aces a decision, <br /> 10 <br /> as provided for in this Ordinance, and which seems unjust to the <br /> 11 <br /> turner, contractor, or architect of any building, they shall have the <br /> 12 <br /> right to apply to the inspector for the appointment of an arbitra- <br /> 13 <br /> tion committee; one of the committee to be appointed by the Inspector; <br /> 14 <br /> one by the owner, contractor or architect , and the third party of the <br /> 15 <br /> committee to be chosen by the two other members . The decision of the <br /> 16 <br /> board shall be final in the matter appealed from. All the mambers of <br /> 17 <br /> said committee shall be competent and disinterested persons. The <br /> 18 <br /> person asking for the arbitration shall, on filing his petition, pay <br /> 19 <br /> Twenty-four ( $24.00 ) Dollars to the Building Inspector which shall <br /> 20 <br /> be paid to the members of the arbitration committee in full for all <br /> 21 <br /> sorts of arbitration. The application for arbitration, herein pro- <br /> 22 <br /> vided, shall be made within five days after notice of the decision o i <br /> 23 <br /> the Inspector from which the appeal is made, and if the two members o. <br /> 24 <br /> the arbitration committee so appointed fail to agree upon a third <br /> 25 <br /> member, or, if the arbitration committee fails to make a report of its <br /> 26 <br /> decision in writing to the Inspector within ten days after its appoint- <br /> 27 <br /> ment , the decision of the Inspector shall be final" . <br /> 28 <br /> 29 Section 2 : An emergency is declared to exist and this Ordinance <br /> 30 <br /> 31 <br />
