On 8/9/2018 I posted a stop work order on the structures(A single family dwelling with detached garage)for construction work being conducted
without required permits.
Electrical,Plumbing, and General Construction work was being conducted on both structures without permits.
2. On 11/2/2018 and 7/26/2019 We visited the site with owners representatives to request compliance, including the requirement to obtain associated
permits and inspections to address the violations and concerns present.
3. On each visit it was noted that the structures were vacant and not secured, both garage and basement to house open and not secured from casual entry.
The owners representative was informed that the unsecured structures require correction.
4. Additionally,Electrical service to the structures remains operational. This is a concern due to observations that exposed and unprotected electrical
conductors are present on and within both structures presenting Electrical Safety Hazards.
5. On 9/20/2019 I again visited the site to assess the conditions and or progress. While there,a neighbor informed me that the property continues to have
ongoing trespass and other criminal activities occurring that have created problems for the community. The basement door to the main structure was
open and not secured as with each prior visit.
To date,no attempts to secure required permits have been made.
The structures remain vacant and in violation for work being conducted without required permits and are not secured from trespass and casual entry.
It is my recommendation that the structures be secured from entry immediately, And that the Electrical service be disconnected until approved otherwise by
this department.
Please consider this property and the associated violations for enforcement action.
Thank you
Ted de Budden
lChief Inspector I Permit Services
425.257-72711 3200 Cedar Street,2nd Floor,Everett,WA 98201
EVERETT Hours:Monday—Friday 7:30am-12:OOpm and 1:OOpm-4:OOpm
everettwa.gov 1 Facebook I Twitter
Note:Emails and attachments sent to and from the City of Everett are public records and may be subject to disclosure pursuant to the Public Records Act.
