The Upper Floor level includes penetrations into and through the rated wall assemblies. Details <br /> should be provided in the construction drawings to fire-proof the penetrations. The details <br /> should specify listed tested assemblies. Where the exception of IBC Section 714.3.2 is used, a <br /> detail diagraming the prescribed requirements should be provided. See IBC Sections 107.2.1 <br /> and 714.3. <br /> 2. The Upper Floor level includes penetrations for lighting into and through the rated ceiling <br /> assemblies. Details should be provided in the construction drawings to fire-proof the <br /> penetrations. The details should specify listed tested assemblies. Where the exception(s) of <br /> IBC Section 714.4.2 is used, a detail diagraming the prescribed requirements should be <br /> provided. See IBC Sections 107.2.1 and 714.4. <br /> 3. The Upper Floor level includes a communal laundry room and a janitor closet with a sink. <br /> Exhaust fans should be provided. The ventilation requirements should be specified. See IMC <br /> Section 403.8.4. <br /> 4. The Upper Floor level includes ceiling fans in the bathrooms, communal laundry room,janitor <br /> closet that penetrate the membrane of the rated ceiling assembly. The drawings should specify <br /> shafts or radiation dampers. Where shafts are provided,details for the shaft construction <br /> should be provided in the drawings. See IBC Sections 717.6 and 717.6.2. <br /> 5. The Upper Floor level includes exhaust ducts for kitchen fans and a dryer in the communal <br /> laundry room. The ducts are anticipated to penetrate through wall and horizontal membranes <br /> and assemblies. Details for shafts should be provided in the construction drawings. Note that <br /> dampers are not permitted on these ducts. See IBC Sections 714 and 717. <br /> This review has been performed for general compliance with the building codes as adopted and <br /> amended by the state of Washington and the city of Everett. Corrections and comments made <br /> during the review process do not relieve the project from compliance with code and permit <br /> requirements.
