<br />THE FOLLOWING STANDARD NOTES ARE REQUIRED ON ALL SANITARY SEWER PLANS:
<br />A. ALL WORK AND MATERIALS SHALL CONFORM TO THE CITY OF EVERETT STANDARDS
<br />AND WSDOT/APWA STANDARD SPECIFICATIONS.
<br />B. NO PART OF THE SANITARY SEWER SYSTEM SHALL BE COVERED, CONCEALED OR
<br />PUT INTO USE UNTIL IT HAS BEEN TESTED, INSPECTED, AND APPROVED BY THE CITY
<br />INSPECTOR.
<br />C. APPROXIMATE LOCATIONS OF EXISTING UTILITIES HAVE BEEN OBTAINED FROM
<br />AVAILABLE RECORDS AND ARE SHOWN FOR CONVENIENCE. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL
<br />BE RESPONSIBLE FOR VERIFICATION OF LOCATIONS AND TO AVOID DAMAGE TO ANY
<br />ADDITIONAL UTILITIES NOT SHOWN. IF CONFLICTS WITH EXISTING UTILITIES ARISE
<br />DURING CONSTRUCTION, THE CONTRACTOR SHALL NOTIFY THE PUBLIC WORKS
<br />INSPECTOR AND ANY CHANGES REQUIRED SHALL BE APPROVED BY THE CITY
<br />ENGINEER PRIOR TO COMMENCEMENT OF RELATED CONSTRUCTION ON THE PROJECT.
<br />D. ALL SEWER MAIN EXTENSIONS WITHIN THE PUBLIC RIGHT-OF-WAY OR IN EASEMENTS
<br />MUST BE STAKED BY SURVEY FOR LINE AND GRADE PRIOR TO STARTING
<br />CONSTRUCTION.

<br />SEWER MAIN SYSTEM GENRAL NOTES:
<br />CONSTRUCTION OF ALL SANITARY SEWER MAINS, SIDE
<br />SEWERS (LATERALS) - WHETHER SIDE SEWERS ARE BY GRAVITY, BY FORCE
<br />MAIN, OR PRESSURE SEWER -AND RELATED FACILITIES, INCLUDING BUT
<br />NOT LIMITED TO SEWER LIFT STATIONS, TELEMETRY FACILITIES AND
<br />APPURTENANCES WILL BE UNDER THE SUPERVISION OF THE CITY AND
<br />SHALL BE IN COMPLIANCE WITH ALL ORDINANCES AND CURRENT
<br />STANDARDS OF THE CITY OF EVERETT, WASHINGTON STATE DEPARTMENT
<br />OF ECOLOGY CRITERIA FOR SEWAGE WORKS DESIGN (ORANGE BOOK), OR
<br />THE UNIFIED PLUMBING CODE AS APPLICABLE.
<br />SEWER MAIN EXTENSIONS WILL BE REQUIRED WHEN THE PROPERTY DOES
<br />NOT FRONT ON A SEWER MAIN OR WHEN THE EXISTING SEWER MAIN IS
<br />NOT ADEQUATE FOR THE INCREASED USE PROPOSED. THE MINIMUM
<br />EXTENSION SHALL BE TO A POINT AT LEAST 5 FEET INSIDE THE
<br />PROLONGATION OF THE PROPERTY LINE.
<br />EACH SIDE SEWER SHALL SERVE ONLY ONE BUILDING AND ONE PARCEL
<br />(ONE CONNECTION FROM LOT TO MAIN) PER SECTION 6-8.3 AND EMC
<br />14.08.170.
<br />ALL NEW SEWER CONNECTIONS SHALL COMPLY WITH BACKWATER VALVE
<br />REQUIREMENTS IN EMC 14.08.180 B. 1.
<br />ALL PIPE INSTALLED SHALL BE STRUCTURALLY SOUND FOR THE DESIGN
<br />DEPTH.
<br />REQUIREMENTS FOR NEW PROPOSED LIFT (PUMP) STATIONS TO BE
<br />DEDICATED TO THE CITY ARE PROVIDED IN SECTION 6-5.1 AND PER THE
<br />CITY'S CURRENT LIFT STATION STANDARDS AS ESTABLISHED BY THE CITY'S
<br />MAINTENANCE DIVISION/SEWER UTILITY. LIFT STATIONS ARE DEFINED AS
<br />SEWAGE PUMPING SYSTEMS THAT SERVE MULTIPLE RESIDENTIAL LOTS OR
<br />A NON-RESIDENTIAL DEVELOPMENT GENERATING SIGNIFICANT SEWAGE
<br />VOLUME. LIFT STATIONS MUST BE DEMONSTRATED TO BE NEEDED, COST
<br />EFFECTIVE FOR THE CITY TO OWN AND MAINTAIN BASED ON SEWER RATES
<br />AND LIFECYCLE 0&M COSTS, MEET THE MAINTENANCE DIVISION
<br />STANDARDS, AND BE PERMITTED AND APPROVED SOLELY AT THE INTEREST
<br />OF THE DEPARTMENT. GRINDER PUMP INSTALLATION FOR INDIVIDUAL
<br />PARCELS MAY BE ALLOWED UNDER SEPARATE REVIEW PER SECTION 6-5.2.
<br />ALL REQUESTS FOR INSPECTIONS AND FOR WITNESSING ACCEPTANCE
<br />TESTS SHALL BE SCHEDULED WITH THE PUBLIC WORKS INSPECTOR AT
<br />LEAST 24 HOURS IN ADVANCE. FAILURE TO GIVE ADEQUATE ADVANCE
<br />NOTICE MAY RESULT IN DELAYS TO THE CONTRACTOR FOR REQUIRED
<br />INSPECTIONS.
