The lowest <br />responsive and responsible bids will be brought back to the council for consideration and award. <br />The estimated annual cost for all the parts listed in the solicitation is approximately $850,000 but <br />can vary depending on need and may exceed $1 million. <br /> <br />Project summary statement: <br />The Public Works department uses maintenance, repair, and operating (MRO) materials to <br />support various programs, such as water, sewer, and technical services. This solicitation includes <br />a variety of materials that are purchased and inventoried by Public Works. Materials are <br />received, inventoried, and then charged to projects as needed for improved project cost tracking. <br />The intent is to award to multiple suppliers based on the lowest cost per item. If an emergent <br />need arises and the lowest-cost supplier is unable to provide the required materials, then staff <br />will proceed to the next lowest supplier to meet project demand. This award approach will <br />improve efficiency in obtaining needed maintenance, repair, and operating materials. <br /> <br />Recommendation (exact action requested of Council): <br />Authorize release of Invitation for Bid #2024-109 for Maintenance, Repair, and Operating <br />Materials as substantially provided. <br /> <br /> <br />
