Please review and respond to the comments below. NON-STRUCTURAL General 1. Unique steel plate concrete connections should be shown and labeled in separate details for construction clarity. See Section 107.2 of the 2021 IBC. STRUCTURAL 1. Please clarify the rationale for use of a 0.75 reduction on the column loading of 6.8 kips utilized in the calculations Sheet 2. 2. It appears that the 3 %" embedment would encroach on the required 3" of concrete cover for concrete elements cast and permanently exposed to soil as tabulated in Section 20.5.13 of ACI 318-19. 3. Please provide the following calculations for each unique column connection. a. Evaluation per the provisions within Chapter 17 of ACI 318-19 for the anchor bolt connections. b. Please consider two-way critical area failure through the existing 6" slab per Section 8.4.4.1 of ACI 318-19. 4. More special inspections are required than listed on the cover sheet. Sections 1704.2.5, 1705.3, 1705.13.7 should apply. In order for the processing of your application to continue, it will be necessary to provide the Building Division with two new sets of revised construction documents reflecting the corrections requested. Please include a response letter which indicates how the corrections were resolved.
