J -bCOM -b ( VZlb
4.4 System Description & Component Identification
Gas Storage Tank Rack
The gas storage tank rack assembly consists of welded steel framework with heavy-
duty casters. Within the framework is an ASME certified 60-gallon pressure vessel
rated for 200 P.S.I., a wiring raceway, and a large junction box for the wiring
connections. The pressure vessel is equipped with an ASME certified pressure relief
valve. Gas is introduced into the tank through a threaded pipe connection art one end
of the tank. The inlet piping is equipped with two listed automatic gas safety shutoff
valves, with a rated opening pressure of 250 P.S.I., and a quick disconnect coupling for
connecting to a bottle gas supply (provided by others).
The vapor supply within the tank is monitored by redundant gas pressure switches,
rated for at least 1000 P.S.I., installed on the end of the tank opposite the inlet
connection. This switch closes the two automatic valves in the tank's fill line when the
pressure in the tank reaches approximately 50 P.S.I. An additional pressure switch is
also provided on the tank's end opening for redundant over pressure protection. The
pressure within the tank can also be monitored visually by watching a pressure gauge,
which is installed in one of the tanks, threaded openings.
Caution
These settings should be maintained as per system design and third party approval on
record. Changes to these settings higher than 50psi could cause system or component
failures.
The gas exits the tank through 2" NPT threaded openings in the top of the tank. Each
of these openings is joined at a manifold assembly providing a total of four supply lines
from the tank. Each of these lines are equipped with a listed automatic gas safety shut-
off valve and a listed quick disconnect device for connection to a gas rated hose
assembly. The hoses also have a quick disconnect device downstream end for
connection to the system's Gas Burner Assembly (a.k.a. "Cube Burner")or other flame
effects manufactured by JEM FIX Inc.
