Please review and respond to the comments below. NON-STRUCTURAL(Benjamin Monk, P.E.) General 1. [Building Code References] The product specifications and foundation notes provide references to codes not adopted by the City of Everett.The project should specify the applicable building codes, including but not limited to the 2021 Washington State Building Code. See Section R106.1.1 and EMC Section 16.005.030. STRUCTURAL(Benjamin Monk, P.E.) 1. [Site Based Design Criteria] Note#6 of the foundation notes states, "Not applicable for areas with seismic design category D or greater." The City of Everett is in a high seismic zone, namely, SDC D: therefore, the provided design cannot be accepted as shown. It is required that seismic zones are considered in design. Please work with the product manufacturer and the Engineer of Record to obtain a product which can be utilized in the City of Everett. 2. [Engineer Required] The proposed project includes structural work. Where a structural design is performed per Section 1601, structural drawings and calculations should be prepared by a professional engineer licensed in the state of Washington; the drawings and calculations should bear the seal and signature of the engineer. See RCW Sections 18.43.010, 18.43.020, and 18.43.070. a. Structural drawings should be submitted as needed that include framing plans, sections, details, construction schedules, fastening schedules, materials requirements, general notes,special inspection requirements,etc.The drawings should substantiate compliance with the prescriptive requirements of the IBC.
