Joe Taflin
From: Pat Carter <patc@hosbros.com>
Sent: Thursday,June 30, 2022 6:34 PM
To: Joe Taflin
Cc: Matt Frause; Drew Williams
Subject: RE: Soundview - Drainage Comment
Joe,
We plan on using vault#4 for storm water storage starting the 2"d week of August and vault#3/#5 the 2nd week of
September. We will not install the flow restrictors in these vaults until the end of the project. In the interim condition
the outfalls will be plugged and pumps on floats will be plumbed from the vaults to downstream outfall structures that
flow to dispersion trenches. All stored storm water will be tested for turbidity and only released when levels are below
<25 NTU with no chemical treatment or<10 NTU if chemical treatment is used. We are shooting for mid-October to
have the base lift of asphalt down throughout the site and covering the native subgrade. Once the paving is installed and
building slab is down Hos crews will clean the storm system, drain the vaults, clean them and activate the Bio-pods prior
to removing the plugs and installing the restrictors. Please let me know if you have any additional questions.
Thanks,
Pat Carter
Hos Bros Construction, Inc.
7733 W.Bostian Road,Woodinville,Wa 98072
C:(425)420-3468 0:(425)481-5569 F:(425)485-6634
From:Joe Taflin [mailto:joe@navixeng.com]
Sent:Tuesday,June 28, 2022 10:48 PM
To: Pat Carter<patc@hosbros.com>
Cc: Matt Frause<mfrause@sierraind.com>; Drew Williams<dreww@hosbros.com>
Subject:Soundview- Drainage Comment
Pat,
I'd like to get your help with one comment:
It appears that the project's detention vaults will be used as temporary sediment storage during construction. Indicate
how the vaults will be dewatered on the plans or CSWPPP. Will the MR 7 orifices be blocked off?
A permit condition will be added to the Public Works Permit to indicate that the vaults shall be cleaned and inspected by
the City prior to being brought into regular operation.
Can you let me know how you plan to use the vaults for temp storage, how they'll be dewatered, and how the orifices
will be protected?Thanks,
Joe Taflin P.E.*, LEED AP
Navix Engineering
11235 SE 6t" Street, Suite 150; Bellevue, WA 98004
d: 425.458.7900 1 c: 206.683.0108
loe(cDnavixeng.com I Iinkedin.com/JoeTaflin
www.navixeng.com
i
