iIrth
June 27, 2022 Earth Solutions NW LLC
ES-4011.08 Ceotechnical Engineering, Construction
Observation/Testing and Environmental Services
Bridge Point Everett 500, LLC
10655 Northeast 4t" Street, Suite 212
Bellevue, Washington 98004
Attention: Ms. Angie Kim
Subject: Response To Comments
PW1612-024 (Deferred Wall Submittal)
Bridge Point Soundview
Everett, Washington
Reference: City of Everett
Memorandum — Plan Review Comments
Dated June 22, 2022
Dear Ms. Kim:
In accordance with your request, Earth Solutions NW, LLC (ESNW) has prepared this letter and
response to the above referenced plan review comments. The City of Everett comments
pertaining to the deferred wall submittal are provided below, followed by our response:
Comment 1 - All designs appear to have been produced 5-6 years ago using non-IBC
documents. It is not clear if any of the standard or design procedures may have been superseded
with more current requirements or recommendations. The documents should be revised as
needed. The appropriate standard editions should be specified.
ESNW Response — With respect to the ESNW produced lock and load (MSE) and rockery
designs, we have reviewed the documents with respect to current design practice. The wall plans
and related recommendations for geogrid reinforcement, drainage, cut stability, rockery boulder
size, compaction, and other pertinent recommendations remain applicable and no structural
revisions to the plans are deemed necessary.
Comment 2 - All wall types should specify special inspection requirements in the respective
drawings. Inspection schedules should list the type and frequency of each inspection required.
The MSE and rockery walls should specify geotechnical inspections per IBC Table 1705.6. The
soil nail walls should specify geotechnical and structural inspections per IBC Tables 1705.3 and
1705.6; additional tests per Table 1705.7 should be specified as applicable. Inspections and
tests should also be listed as required by the specified design standards used for each wall.
15365 N.E. 90th Street,Suite 100 0 Redmond,WA 98052 0 (425)449-4704 • FAX(425)449-4711
