As used in this Notice, and in the contract resulting from this solicitation, the Covered 12 <br />Area is as designated herein. 13 <br /> 14 <br />Standard Federal Equal Employment Opportunity Construction Contract Specifications 15 <br />(Executive Order 11246) 16 <br /> 17 <br />1. As used in these specifications: 18 <br /> 19 <br />a. Covered Area means the geographical area described in the solicitation 20 <br />from which this contract resulted; 21 <br /> 22 <br />b. Director means Director, Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs, 23 <br />United States Department of Labor, or any person to whom the Director 24 <br />delegates authority; 25 <br /> 26 <br />c. Employer Identification Number means the Federal Social Security number 27 <br />used on the Employer's Quarterly Federal Tax Return, U. S. Treasury 28 <br />Department Form 941; 29 <br /> 30 <br />d. Minority includes: 31 <br /> 32 <br />(1) Black, a person having origins in any of the Black Racial Groups 33 <br />of Africa. 34 <br /> 35 <br />(2) Hispanic, a fluent Spanish speaking, Spanish surnamed person of 36 <br />Mexican, Puerto Rican, Cuban, Central American, South 37 <br />American, or other Spanish origin. 38 <br /> 39 <br />(3) Asian or Pacific Islander, a person having origins in any of the 40 <br />original peoples of the Pacific rim or the Pacific Islands, the 41 <br />Hawaiian Islands and Samoa. 42 <br /> 43 <br />(4) American Indian or Alaskan Native, a person having origins in any 44 <br />of the original peoples of North America, and who maintain cultural 45 <br />identification through tribal affiliation or community recognition. 46 <br /> 47 <br />2.
