Wall studs to top and bottom plates.
b. Top plate splices.
c. Built-up headers.
d. Header to supporting framing (e.g., king and jack studs).
e. Wall corners.
f. Braced wall nailing.
g. Floor diaphragm nailing
h. Roof sheathing field nailing.
i. Roof framing (i.e., 2x4 outriggers per Section 1/A304).
j. Roof edge nailing.
k. Truss blocking at wall supports.
4. Detail 2/A6 references structural"s"sheets for the sill plate anchor bolts, which do not appear
to be provided. See Section R106.1.1.
5. The post in Detail 3/A6 should be decay-resistant material (e.g., preservative-treated wood,
etc.). See Section R317.1.
6. A detail should be provided for the roof overhang on the south side of the addition. Note that
sheathing is typically not rated to cantilever for 1-foot without support. See Section R106.1.1.
7. The roof framing plan appears to indicate a truss will be provided over the south exterior wall.
The wall framing will not be continuous to the roof. Out-of-plane bracing is required to resist
wind loading. Note that the bottom chord bracing provided by the truss manufacturer is not
intended for this purpose. It is anticipated that an engineered design will be required. See
Section R301.1.3.
This review has been performed for general compliance with the building codes as adopted and
amended by the state of Washington and the city of Everett. Corrections and comments made
during the review process do not relieve the project from compliance with code and permit
requirements. The designers-of-record are responsible for a complete design in accordance with
the laws of the state of Washington.
If you have any questions or require additional clarification, please contact us.
Respectfully,
Drew Martin, P.E., S.E.
Associate Engineer/ Commercial Plans Examiner
(425)257-8813
dmartin@everettwa.gov
S:\BM a rti n\2020\B2012-026_R1.docx
O. 3200 Cedar Street0
425.257.8810 everetteps@everettwa.gov
Everett,WA 98201 425.257.8857 fax everettwa.gov/permits
Page 3 of 3
