• <br /> ORDINANCE No. 1898 <br /> An ordinance relating to the issuance of permits for the sale <br /> of news-papers, magazines and periodicals, to minors under sixteen <br /> (16) years of age, amending Ordinance No. 1455 and declaring an <br /> emergency. <br /> T}IE CITY OF EVERETT DOES ORDAIN: <br /> Section 1: That Section 2 of ordinance No. 1455 of the city <br /> of Everett be and the same is hereby amended to read as follows: <br /> "Section 2: No permit to sell newspapers, magazines or <br /> periodicals on the streets or other public places in Everett <br /> shall ever be granted to any minor under twelve (12) years of <br /> age. " <br /> Section 2: That Section 3 of Ordinance No. 1455 of the city <br /> of Everett be and the same is hereby amended to read as follows: <br /> "Section 3: Any minor under sixteen (16) years of age <br /> desiring to sell news-papers, magazines or other periodicals on the <br /> streets or other public places in Everett shall make an application <br /> therefor to the Commissioner of safety, accompanied by a written <br /> consent from the parents or legal guardian of such minor if there <br /> be such, and the Commissioner of Safety shall if in his judgment <br /> such applicant is entitled to such permit, grant a permit to such <br /> applicant.
