Task 1: Describe the project during construction
Nature and purpose of the construction project:
Replace existing valves on Alderwood Water & Wastewater District's 30" and 36"
potable water Transmission Mains 1 and 2, with new butterfly valves, manway tees,
air vac piping (when impacted), and connection to existing 30" and 36" water main
piping.
Adjacent areas,including streams,lakes,wetlands,residential areas,and roadsthat
might be affected by the construction project:
No sensitive areas will be impacted by this construction. Existing valves are located
in paved roadways, shoulders, and sidewalks as shown on the plans.
How upstream drainage areas may affect the site:
Upstream drainage areas are not anticipated to affect either of the two project sites.
Downstream drainage leading from the site to a receiving body of water:
BMPs will be installed to prevent erosion and sediment from leaving the two project
sites during construction of the valve replacements.
Critical areas that receive runoff from the site up to one-quarter mile away:
There are no critical areas within one-quarter mile of the sites that would receive runoff from the
project sites. There are two wetlands within a quarter mile of Site 1-2 (Wood Creek Basin) and Site
1-3 (Lake Washington Watershed), however based on the City's GIS, site runoff is not routed to
these wetlands. Attached City of Everett Critical Map identifies the site locations, along with a
one-quarter mile radius around each site.
Special requirements and provisions for working near or within critical areas:
No work will occur near or within critical areas.
Areas on the site that have potential erosion problems:
There are no areas on the projects sites that have potential for erosion problems
cause by construction of the valve replacement. All areas are flat and located in
paved right-of-way.
Locations where surface water leaves the site:
No disturbed areas are expected to contribute to surface water runoff.
City of Everett Public Works
Construction Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan 2 of 6
(SWPPP) Template for Small Projects
