I <br /> I,. <br /> /cox. <br /> cie-400Z, it,,040Avt 1 <br /> t. <br /> ORDINAITCE No. 11100040 <br /> I <br /> An Ordinance submitting to the legal voters of the city <br /> of Everett a proposed amendment to the Charter of said city <br /> with relation to the maximum tax levy for library purposes. <br /> THE CITY OF EVERETT DOES ORDAIlT: <br /> Section 1: That a proposed amendment to Secti ns 62 and <br /> 122 of the Charter of the City of Everett with relat on to the <br /> maximum tax levy for library purposes be submitted t the legal <br /> voters of the city of Everett at the regular general municipal <br /> election to be held in said city on November g19. <br /> awl <br /> Section 2: Said proposed amendment shall be as folio rs : <br /> "Section 62. Funds: (a) The city council shall_ levy <br /> each year for maintenance and improvement of the library and: its <br /> branches, a tax of not more than eight-tenths of a mill. <br /> (b) All funds recei ed by the library board from other <br /> sources than taxation shall be deposited with the cite treasurer <br /> to the credit of the library fund. <br /> (c ) The library board shall certify to the clerk ev -ry <br /> expenditure made by it , and the same shall -he audited and paid <br /> in the same manner as other claims againt the city. " <br /> Section 122. Limitation of Tax Levies: The council shall <br /> have authority to levy taxes upon all real anopersonal property, <br /> not exe mpt from taxation, each year as follows: <br /> Foie parks an cemetery, not exceeding six-tenths of one mill. <br /> For libraries , not exceeding eight-tenths of one mill. <br /> For all other purposes (except purposes mentioned in the <br /> succeeding section) not exceeding nine milks <br />
