No <br /> consolidation of disturbed soils was completed at the time of the inspection. ORA Field Rep <br /> suggested use of a plate compactor or jumping jack to compact the loose material at <br /> design elevation. <br /> A'/z" steel probe was used to evaluate completed subgrade conditions. <br /> Summary <br /> A representative number of probe tests were taken throughout the referenced subgrade; <br /> based on penetrations of 2-6"with moderate resistance to advance into undisturbed <br /> surface using full body weight, the subgrade was considered unsuitable for the allowable <br /> load bearing pressure of 3,000PSF per General Structural Notes on sheet S2n. <br /> The contractor informed ORA Field Rep they would apply some form of mechanical <br /> consolidation and re-schedule and inspection—work in progress. <br /> Copies to: Anthony Coyne, P.E.
