KPFF Consulting Engineers
1601 Fifth Avenue,Suite 1600
Seattle,WA 98101
C 206.258.9754
From:Jelena Vandenhaak<Jelena.Vandenhaak@ContechLLC.com>
Sent: Friday, April 2, 2021 1:24 AM
To: Katie Herold <Katie.Herold@kpff.com>
Cc:Jordan Drugge<Jordan.Drugge@ContechLLC.com>
Subject: RE: [EXTERNAL] RE: Filterra Bioscape vault downstream of FC
Hello Katie
Yes,that flow still works out to be 8x6.
When you get a chance, please send any plans/elevations you have-this is an unusual design for us (downstream of
detention, pumps...), and I would definitely like to run it up by our managers to make sure everything jives prior to bid. I
know we did an initial check but would like for someone more experienced with this type of application to review the
final proposal.
Thank you!
Jelena
Jelena Vandenhaak, P.E.*
Stormwater Consultant,King County
CONTECH Engineered Solutions LLC
Seattle,WA
Mob: 206-730-7946
9vandenhaak@conteches.com
www.ContechES.com
*registered in AZ
From: Katie Herold <Katie.Herold@kpff.com>
Sent:Wednesday, March 31, 20214:13 PM
To:Jelena Vandenhaak<Jelena.Vandenhaak@ContechLLC.com>
Cc:Jordan Drugge<Jordan.Drugge@ContechLLC.com>
Subject: RE: [EXTERNAL] RE: Filterra Bioscape vault downstream of FC
Jelena- For Community Transit's Merrill Creek Operations Base we are proceeding with the Bioscape vault downstream
of detention. In order to meet Contech's guidance for using these downstream of detention (24 hrs online, 24 hours
offline) I'm showing two Bioscape vaults. There are two separate pumps that will pump a maximum of the 2-year peak
from the detention system and they will be programmed to alternate pumps every 24 hours. Each pump is connected to
its own Bioscape vault. This will allow one vault to rest for 24 hours while the other vault is receiving runoff.
Can you confirm the 8x6 vault is still the right size for a 2-year peak rate of 0.051 cfs to comply with the 50"/hr max?
Katie Herold, PE
Associate
KPFF Consulting Engineers
1601 Fifth Avenue,Suite 1600
Seattle,WA 98101
2
