Geotechnical Engineering Report - Revised lferracon
Kaiser Everett Medical Center Everett, Washington
December 18, 2019 Terracon Project No. 81195071 GeoReport
PID Field Procedure: During advancement and sampling for boring B-09-19 samples were
screened on a preliminary basis using a handheld PID or photoionization detector. The PID unit
was calibrated per manufacturers recommendations while in the field prior to sample screening.
Soil samples were collected in moisture-tight containers and the tip of the PID unit inserted for air
sampling. PID readings collected are shown on the boring log for boring B-09-19. Samples were
also observed for hydrocarbon odors during boring operations, however, no odors were detected
during the time of drilling.
Laboratory Testing
The project engineer reviewed the field data and assigned laboratory tests to understand the
engineering properties of the various soil strata, as necessary, for this project. Procedural
standards noted below are for reference to methodology in general. In some cases, variations to
methods were applied because of local practice or professional judgment. Standards noted below
include reference to other, related standards. Such references are not necessarily applicable to
describe the specific test performed.
ASTM D2216 Standard Test Methods for Laboratory Determination of Water (Moisture)
Content of Soil and Rock by Mass
ASTM D422 Standard Test Method for Particle-Size Analysis of Soils
ASTM D1140 Standard Test Method for determining the Amount of Material Finer than
75- pm (No.200) Sieve in Soils by Washing
Responsive ■ Resourceful ■ Reliable DTLDRABON AND TES MPRocEDLRES2of2
