CITY OF EVERETT SPECIAL PROVISIONS <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> Division 2 <br />Everett Mall Bus Platform Earthwork December 2024 <br />WO No – MALLSTN/24462 SP-108 <br />When removing structures such as manholes, inlets, or vaults that interfere with the <br />construction, properly plug all pipe openings abandoned in-place watertight with <br />Commercial Concrete, or with mortar and masonry, blocks or brick. <br />Backfill voids with suitable job excavated material where structures are removed. <br />Compact suitable backfill material in accordance with 2-03.3(14)C. <br />If the Engineer determines the job-excavated material unsuitable for backfill then <br />Contractor shall obtain Gravel Borrow or CDF as directed, to complete backfilling the <br />voids. If a pay item for Gravel Borrow or CDF is not included in the Proposal, then <br />providing Gravel Borrow or CDF for backfill shall be considered as Extra Work under <br />1-04.4. <br />2-02.3(3) Removal of Pavement, Sidewalks, Curbs, and Gutters <br />Delete 2-02.3(3) and substitute the following: <br />2-02.3(3) Removal of Existing Street Improvements <br />(*****) <br />2-02.3(3)A Description <br />The Work shall consist of the removal and disposal of various existing improvements <br />including, but not limited to, pavements, curb, curb and gutter, gutter and other items <br />necessary for the accomplishment of the improvement. <br />2-02.3(3)B Removal of Pavement <br />Remove full depth existing permanent type pavement and driveway pavement shown <br />on the Plans or as directed by the Engineer. <br />Replace, at no expense to the City, existing pavement designated to remain that is <br />damaged during the pavement or concrete base removal. <br />2-02.3(3)B1 Sawcutting <br />Make vertical full depth saw cut between existing asphalt concrete pavement, to <br />remain and the portion to be removed. <br />Where asphalt concrete pavement overlays cement concrete pavement base, <br />saw cut in accordance with 2-02.3(6) Sawing and Line Drilling. <br />2-02.3(3)C Removal of Curb, Curb and Gutter <br />Remove existing curbs where shown on the Plans or where encountered in the Work <br />and designated by the Engineer. <br />Existing curb and gutter includes, but is not limited to, cement concrete, cement <br />concrete curb with a brick gutter and a cement concrete back, or other combinations <br />of rigid materials. Remove the entire curb and gutter section, regardless of material <br />composition. <br />2-02.3(3)C1 Sawcutting <br />Make vertical full depth saw cut between existing curb or curb and gutter to <br />remain and the portion to be removed. <br />2-02.3(3)D Removal of Cement Concrete Sidewalks <br />Concrete slabs that average four-inches or less in thickness will be considered as <br />sidewalk removal.
