The source of funds for the project is Capital Improvement Program 3 (CIP-3). The <br />project cost is estimated at $575,000. These costs include all construction activities, contingency, <br />tax, and all other costs associated with the project. Equipment procurement and installation will <br />be through King County Directors Association (KCDA) Cooperative. <br /> <br />Project summary statement: <br />In 2023, Lowell Park Playground, celebrated its 20-year anniversary. The current playground was <br />added as a vital park amenity in 2003. <br />Scheduled replacement of Parks playgrounds is necessary to keep them functional and enjoyable <br />for the community, compliant with new standards, and to minimize maintenance costs. <br />Playground replacement work includes demolition of the existing playground, removal of the <br />engineered wood fiber surfacing system, construction of a new forever lawn surfacing system, <br />installation of the new playground equipment and certification of the design and installation. <br /> <br />Recommendation (exact action requested of Council): <br />Adopt an Ordinance creating a Special Improvement Project entitled “Lowell Park Playground <br />Replacement”, Fund 354, Program 104, to accumulate project costs in the amount of $575,000. <br /> <br />
