Pile capacities for the concentric piles have been calculated utilizing the efective cylinder area of the
PowerTeam C25C hydraulic cylinder used with the Stabil-Loc Foundation Piering Systems assembly. A
charts howing the resulting capacities is attached to this letter. Per the attached document, a Stabil-Loc
2-7/8"diameter concentric pile installed to a minimum pressure of 5,000 psi results in a maximum
allowable capacity of 17.2 kips including a safety factor of 2.
The results are summarized below:
Typical Helical Piles:
Maximum Demand = 13.0 kips/pile
Available Capacity= 17.2 kips/pile
Typical Concentric Piles:
Maximum Demand = 12.0 kips/pile
Available Capacity= 17.2 kips/pile
By inspection, the pile capacities of the installed piles exceed the maximum loading demand as
determined by 1-120's analysis. Therefore, the installed piles comply with the structural design/demand.
To align with jurisdiction requirements, the FOR from L120 Engineering and Design has provided an on-
site re-inspection (May 17, 2024) where a single installed test pile (Helical Pile#3) was load tested to be in
compliance with the min. required loading for the typical piles as specified in the calculations. During
the re-inspection testing, it was observed that the test pile reached test pressures equivalent to a load
capacity of 16 kips before the existing structure showed signs of lifting, at which point the testing was
halted. As can be seen by the initial installation drive logs, pressures equivalent to 25.2kips (1800psi) were
achieved for all pile locations. The limitation of the re-tested pile lies in the dead load of the structure
only as the counterbalance force as it has already been installed. By inspection, it can be seen in both
the initial installation results and the re-tested pile results that the pile capacity of the installed pile(s)
exceeds the maximum loading demand as determined by 1-120's analysis. Therefore, the installed pile(s)
comply with the structural design/demand.
The results of re-inspection testing of installed pile(s) are summarized below:
Pile#3 Maximum Demand = 13.0 kips/pile
Pile#3 Available Capacity = 16.0 kips/pile
Please contact us if you have any questions.
Sincerely, • . . .
•'•R.7 HU,QA'.
Mans R.Thurfjell, P.E <'S
L120 Engineering& Design (1-120) f `z •
mthurf0ell@1120engineering.com '
