CALEB WIDEN
2310 VIRGINIA AVE
B2302-115
In order for the processing of your application to continue, the following documentation shall be
submitted to Permit Services for review:
a. Itemized letter addressing the comments provided below.
b. Two complete sets of revised construction drawings.
c. Two copies of supplemental structural calculations (if applicable).
d. One copy of the geotechnical report (if applicable).
Submittal documents should contain sufficient information and detail to review the proposed project
for compliance with the adopted building codes. Upon submittal of the revised documents, your
application will be given priority and the review will recommence.
General:
1. Thank you for addressing most of the comments from last round! We appreciate your effort!
Architectural (Reviewer: Yin Lu)
1. In response letter you mentioned "The CO alarms have been addressed regarding
interconnected and hard wired with battery back up on each floor, PG 10 Framing floor
plans"— Firstly, there is no Framing floor plans on Page 10. Please correct the note.
Secondly, I noticed you marked up CO alarm on your ground level floor plan on Page 4.
However, Level 2 bedroom CO alarm is missing. Please add accordingly.
2. R-21 is required for wall assembly like you noted on Page 7, however, there is no wall
assembly schedule showing that the wall is 2x6 stud wall. R-21 is about 5 1/2"thick and will
not fit in a 2x4 stud wall. If you are using some special insulation material, please be
specific. If not, please add note showing that wall is 2x6 stud at least, with vapor barrier
and 1/2" GWB min at interior side. Schedule of wall assembly is encouraged but not
necessary if text note can explain. I believe you know what you are doing, but our inspector
needs a confirmed and written text to do inspection.
3. No additional action.
4. Vented attic area is 440sf (20'x22'), so 2.93 sf (equals to 421.9 square inches). I assumed
the gable means the attic windows showing on the elevations, which is 12"x16". However,
there is no roof jacks showing on any of the drawings. Eaves vent equals to 100 square
inches plus the attic window, it is not adequate to meet the ventilation area requirement.
Could you please clarify your ventilation calculation?
5. You would like to claim Heating Option number 2 which is available for an initial heating
system using a heat pump that meets federal standards for the equipment listed in Table
C403.3.2(1)C or C403.3.2(2) or air to water heat pump units that are configured to provide
both heating and cooling and are rated in accordance with AHRI 550/590. This is
commercial grade heat pump, if this is the design intent, please provide specification of this
heat pump.
3200 Cedar Street © 425.257.8810 O permitservices@everettwa.gov
Everett,WA 98201 425.257.8857 fax everettwa.gov/permits
Page 2 of 4
