He has only seen similar <br /> applications/occupancies proposed one or two times since he has started here. There is likely more discussion to be had <br /> regarding sprinklers and electrical equipment required to allow for out-of-home childcare facilities like the one you have <br /> described. For instance, regardless of whether the care is custodial or medical in nature and the quantity of children is <br /> less than five and the 2021 IRC governs,the 2021 IBC requires an NFPA 13D sprinkler system in similar care facilities.This <br /> determination comes from Section 308.2.4 (Custodial Care) and Section 308.3.2 (Medical Care)—links below: <br /> Section 308.2.4 <br /> Section 308.3.2 <br /> In the interest of a full discussion, I would like to attempt to schedule a counter meeting (free, in person at the address <br /> in my signature or via teams) for some time next week so all disciplines can be involved. Specifically,there could be <br /> more complications regarding the electrical systems currently in place at the residence and/or to be placed in the <br /> residence (wiring, emergency generation, etc.). I will do my research and have conversations with the electrical <br /> inspectors in-house so that we can have a more educated conversation on these electrical code matters. We currently <br /> have openings for a 30min session between 11am to 12pm and 2pm to 3pm on Wednesday and 9:30am to 12pm on <br /> Thursday.
