C 206.258.9754
From: Jelena Vandenhaak <Jelena.Vandenhaak@ContechLLC.com>
Sent: Tuesday, January 19, 2021 6:00 PM
To: Katie Herold <Katie.Herold@kpff.com>
Cc: Jordan Drugge <Jordan.Drugge@ContechLLC.com>
Subject: RE: [EXTERNAL] RE: Filterra Bioscape vault downstream of FC
Hello Katie
For WQ of 0.048 cfs (2-year release rate), sized for the 50"/hr (per Ecology for oil treatment), you will need 8x6 vault.
This is a standard vault size, and really too small to call Bioscape- I would recommend a Bioscape Vault, which is
essentially an open top vault.
I am attaching some documents that you might fine helpful- one of them showing the elevations of such vault- generally
Filterra's profile is 6-8" of rock on the bottom, 21" of media and 3" of mulch, with several inches of ponding depth
available. There are some possible variation to this, but that is the basic, Ecology approved system.
Please let me know if this helps.
Also, would you kindly remind of the name of the project? I remember talking about it, but apparently I forgot to write
down the name/location of it.
Thank you, Jelena
Jelena Vandenhaak, P.E.*
Stormwater Consultant, King County
CONTECH Engineered Solutions LLC
Seattle, WA
Mob: 206-730-7946
avandenhaak@conteches.com
www.ContechES.com
*registered in AZ
From: Katie Herold <Katie.Herold@kpff.com>
Sent: Tuesday, January 19, 2021 2:03 PM
To: Jelena Vandenhaak <Jelena.Vandenhaak@ContechLLC.com>
Cc: Jordan Drugge <Jordan.Drugge@ContechLLC.com>
Subject: [EXTERNAL] RE: Filterra Bioscape vault downstream of FC
CAUTION: This email originated from outside of the organization. Exercise caution when
opening attachments or clicking links, especially from UNKNOWN senders.
Thanks for the feedback. Can you tell me again the size of structure needed for a water quality flow rate of 0.048 cfs (2-
year release rate) for the 50"/hr? This would be for the Bioscape configuration. What would my relative elevations
need to be if I have inlet pipe. I don't need bypass since it is pump controlled. Looking at the details online it looks like
the max structure depth is V-5" from vault rim to incoming pipe invert.
Thanks!
Katie Herold, PE
