Please see
our responses to comments below.
PERMIT COMMENT RESPONSES
2. Permit calculations appear to include wind out -of -plane wall checks. However, it
appears that out -of -plane wall loading from ASCE 7-10 Sec. 12.11.1 may govern the
design. Please verify and provide additional calculations that proposed walls are
adequate.
Response: See the attached calculations and updated drawings. The walls at
Grids 1 & 5 have updated vertical reinforcement at the piers. No changes are
required for the wall at Grid Q.
3. Permit calculations indicate global diaphragm checks. However, it appears that the out -
of -plane anchorage connection design calculations are missing for metal deck
diaphragms. Please indicate or provide additional calculations addressing these
elements. ASCE 7-10 Sec 12.11.2.1, 12.11.2.2.2.
Response: See the attached calculations. At Grids 1 and 5, the connection
between the joists and precast wall per 3/S5.10-MB is sufficient, and the top
chord axial loading will be communicated to the joist designer for design as
part of a deferred submittal. At Grid Q, the connection per 6/S5.10-MB is
