The comments below were generated from this project's City of Everett Industrial Pretreatment Reviewers. All questions shall be routed through this
project's Public Works Reviewer Thad Newport with City of Everett Permit Services (TNewport@everettwa.gov).
#
Document
Sht/Pg
Reviewer's Comment
Designer's Response
Initials
3
Civil Plans
-
The canopy over the east fuel island (Pacific Pride) will need to
As noted above, any stormwater from the
be extended/replaced to fully cover the bermed area of the fuel
fuel island will be directed to the public
island, thus preventing direct rainfall onto the area and mitigate
sewer in 71" Avenue SE. Stormwater runoff
the amount of stormwater entering the sanitary sewer. (EMC
from fuel island catch basin (1,460 SF
14.40.050.B.12)
tributary area) flows through a 1,000 gallon
OWS, which is approximately five (5) times
larger than required. Expanding the canopy
is not required to meet the water quality
treatment sizing standards.
EMC 14.40.050.8.12 states:
12. Stormwater, surface water, ground
water, artesian well water, roof runoff,
subsurface drainage, swimming pool
drainage, condensate, deionized water,
noncontact cooling water, and unpolluted
wastewater, unless specifically authorized
by the director.
The code does not make any reference to a
canopy, so there is no code justification for
expanding the canopy. It is our
understanding that the City is seeking to
have storm drainage from fueling islands
directed to the sanitary sewer, which is
allowed if authorized by the director.
Stormwater will flow through a 1,000 gallon
OWS prior to discharging to the sanitary
sewer, exceeding the minimum City water
quality standards.
The existing site was permitted by the City,
vesting the existing design. There is no Code
justification to expand the canopy for only
460 square feet of uncovered fuel island
area.
