12.For buildings with two or more floors, including sub-floors, the alarm system must call point- <br /> by-point reporting to an alarm center. <br /> 13.Carbon monoxide alarms must be installed in all new residential construction in R-1, R-2, <br /> and R-3 occupancies. 2015 IFC, Section 915, WA State Amendment 915.1. Note: The ` <br /> alarm system shall be an addressable system. An annunciator panel shall be placed <br /> in the front lobby area of the 1st floor. <br /> 14.Fire Suppression (Sprinkler) System -An approved automatic suppression system shall be <br /> provided as required by City Ordinance No. 3021-07, EMC, Chapter 16.76. <br /> Plans for any such system shall be submitted to the Engineering & Public Services <br /> Department for examination and approval. Such plans shall include plans for the <br /> underground mains that will supply the sprinkler system. <br /> The type of sprinkler to be installed will be determined by the Building Official. It may be an <br /> NFPA 13, NFPA 13R, or NFPA 13D system depending upon several factors. Sprinkler <br /> installation shall not begin without an approved and stamped set of plans from the <br /> Engineering & Public Services Department. The Fire Department will also review the <br /> plans and shall field inspect the installation based only on approved plans that must be on <br /> site. Changes to plans must be approved by both the Engineering & Public Services and <br /> Fire Departments. <br /> Aboveground sprinkler piping shall be hydrostatically tested as established in NFPA <br /> Standard 13. Underground piping shall be hydrostatically tested and flushed as <br /> established in NFPA Standard 24 for private fire mains. (Below-ground piping must be <br /> installed by Washington State Licensed Underground Sprinkler line certified "U" <br /> installers. For further information, contact the State Fire Marshal's Office at (360) <br /> 596-3900 or contact the Everett Fire Department at (425) 257-8124.) All such tests shall <br /> be witnessed by a Fire Department inspector. Call (425) 257-8124 or (425) 257-8120 to <br /> make an appointment for inspection. <br /> Contractors' materials and test certificates shall be submitted to the Everett Fire <br /> Department prior to issuance of any Certificates of Occupancy. 2015 IFC, WA State <br /> Amendment 903.3.5.3, Page 111. <br /> Call (425) 257-8124 for more information. <br /> 15.Sprinkler shutoff valves shall be provided on each floor in every building three or more <br /> stories high, including below-grade floors. <br /> 16.Standpipe systems shall comply with NFPA 14 2013 edition. Standpipe systems shall be <br /> installed throughout buildings where the floor level of the highest story is located more than <br /> 30 feet above the lowest level of the fire department vehicle access, or where the floor level <br /> of the lowest story is located more than 30 feet below the highest level of fire department <br /> vehicle access. Note: Standpipe connections must be on intermediate landings. At <br /> the top of the stairwells to the roof, the standpipe may be kept inside of the last <br /> intermediate landing before the roof access.
