1.0 INTRODUCTION
This Habitat Assessment has been prepared for the 39.45-acre parcel located northwest of the
terminus of 36th Avenue West in Everett, Washington. (Section 3, Township 28N, Range 4E,
W.M.) The subject Snohomish County parcel number is 28040300200100.
The subject property is undeveloped, with a majority of the site having been logged in
approximately 2006. Some forested areas still exist in the southeastern and southwestern
portions of the site. An even aged stand of red alder, big -leaf maple, salmonberry and
Himalayan blackberry currently occupy the areas of the site that were logged.
A forested strip, approximately 75 feet wide, exists along the northern property boundary. This
area functions as a habitat connection between Japanese Gulch to the west and Edgewater Creek
to the northeast. It meets the criteria for a "Continuous Vegetative Corridor Linking
Watersheds," as defined in EMC 19.37.180, which qualifies as Fish and Wildlife Habitat
Conservation Area. As the vegetated corridor abuts the proposed development, a habitat
assessment is required. This document fulfills the habitat assessment requirement.
With the exception of the forested area in the southwestern portion of the site, the subject
property displays a general northern aspect. The southwestern portion of the site contains a
steep west aspect slope that slopes toward Japanese Gulch. The southeastern corner of the site
drains to the east.
Wetland Resources, Inc. completed a site investigation on September 30, 2015, to assess the habitat
quality and structure present in the vegetative corridor.
Figure 1: Aerial view of the subject property. Vegetative corridor is in orange.
Habitat Assessmehl I WRI# 15202
Soundaiew Business Campus October 2, 2015
