EVALUATION FOR
AGENCY USE ONLY
4. PLANTS
a. Check the types of vegetation found on the site:
✓ deciduous tree: alder, maple, aspen, other: Serviceberry and Hawthorne
✓ evergreen tree: fir, cedar, pine, other: Hemlock
✓ shrubs
✓ grass
pasture
crop or grain
Orchards, vineyards or other permanent crops
wet soil plants: cattail, buttercup, bulrush, skunk cabbage, other:
_ water plants: water lily, eelgrass, milfoil, other:
other types of vegetation
b. What kind and amount of vegetation will be removed or altered?
The predominant vegetation on the site is grass. Any significant trees in the
proposed perimeter buffer areas would be retained wherever possible. Several
significant trees would be relocated as a result of the proposal.
c. List threatened and endangered species known to be on or near the site, if any:
A query request was made on February 4, 2016, to the Washington Department of
Natural Resources (WDNR) Natural Heritage Program database, which was last
updated July 24, 2016, and are no records or known occurrences of priority plant
species on or immediately adjacent to the site.
d. Proposed landscaping, use of native plants, or other measures to preserve or
enhance vegetation on the site, if any:
Landscaping for this site consists of Northwest Native trees and shrubs, and
northwest adapted plant selections. All plants are selected for their ability to require
limited to no irrigation once established. Areas of future development are covered
with Eco-Turf seed mixes that provide a seasonally mowed `prairie' or `meadow'
environment. These landscapes require little to no irrigation once established. This
property provides a 30' wide Landscape buffer continuous along all property lines
that abut a residential zone. This landscape buffer is a mix of evergreen and
deciduous trees and a native shrub understory that provides visual screening into the
site as well as wildlife habitat. The landscape buffer is a permanent feature and all
utility relocations into this buffer if needed will restore the existing buffer condition.
Future site development will continue to implement sustainable site and landscape
solutions to reduce storm water run off volumes and to establish healthy landscapes.
e. List all noxious weeds and invasive species known to be on or near the site.
Environmental Checklist — Providence Regional Medical Center Everett — North Site Page 13
© SHOCKEY'
