Benyam Stephanos
From: Charles Johnstone
Sent: Wednesday, September 5, 2018 2:51 PM
To: Benyam Stephanos
Subject: RE: SEPA 18-007, 2201 Everett Ave, 78,000 sf Storage Bldg
HI Benyam,
Depending on what their plans are for'treatment' as noted in my July reply, this project should not generate any other
IPT concerns or review comments.
I am curious at what point will projects like this in North Everett have to plan for separate discharges from the property
for sewer and separated drainage/storm runoff flows. I suppose that depends on when a given area will have its pipes
separated.
Charles/X8224
From: Charles Johnstone
Sent:Tuesday,July 10, 2018 9:56 AM
To: Benyam Stephanos<BStephanos@everettwa.gov>
Cc:Gene Bennett<GBennett@everettwa.gov>
Subject: RE:SEPA 18-008,2201 Everett Ave, Self Storage Building
HI Benyam,
I got some paperwork on the project and saw one note in the SEPA app that caught my eye.
In 3.C.2(Water)the applicant notes that"normal usage of the site could contribute automotive fluids and
solids to the [waste]water system. An approved treatment and discharge system will effectively treat normal
usage to acceptable levels. ..." It also notes controls for incidental spills.
I don't know just what this might entail for discharges to the storm drainage system and we'd defer to SWM
there. RE potential for minor discharges to sewer,we would expect the facility to have BMPs and
procedures/resources available to help clients or staff contain and clean up minor spills vs.SOPs that might
allow any'routine' discharges to sewer That said, if there are any treatment systems in plans for discharges to
sewer, then IPT may need to review the system proposed.
Thanks.
C
CELEBRATING Charles LR Johnstone
✓ 125 Industrial Waste Inspector I Public Works
YEARS 425.257.8240 M 1425.257.8224 D 13200 Cedar St, Everett, WA 98201
A story worth telling EPW/Industrial Pretreatment
Note:Emails and attachments sent to and from the City of Everett are public records and may be subject to disclosure pursuant to the Public
Records Act(RCW 42.56).
From:Jillian Needham
Sent:Tuesday, September 4, 2018 2:19 PM
To: Benyam Stephanos<BStephanos@everettwa.gov>; Amie Roshak<ARoshak@everettwa.gov>; Brian Doolan
<BDoolan@everettwa.gov>; Charles Johnstone<CJohnstone@everettwa.gov>; Dave Voigt<DVoigt@everettwa.gov>;
Erik Emerson<EEmerson@everettwa.gov>; Gene Bennett<GBennett@everettwa.gov>; Heather Griffin
<HGriffin@everettwa.gov>;Jim Spooner<JSpooner@everettwa.gov>; Mark Sadler<MSadler@everettwa.gov>; Michael
Brick<MBrick@everettwa.gov>; Mike Palacios<MPalacios@everettwa.gov>; Patrick Mitchell
<PMitchell@everettwa.gov>; Paul McKee<PMckee@everettwa.gov>; Richard Hefti<RHefti@everettwa.gov>; Tom
1
