March 19, 2014 <br /> The regular meeting of the Everett City Council was called to order at <br /> 6:30 p.m., March 19, 2014, in the City Council Chambers of the Everett <br /> City Hall, Council President Moore presiding. Upon roll call it was found <br /> that Mayor Stephanson and Council Members Roberts, Moore, Murphy, <br /> Gipson, Bader, and Anderson were present. Council Member Stonecipher <br /> was excused. <br /> Council Member Bader led the Pledge of Allegiance. <br /> The minutes of the March 12, 2014, City Council meeting were approved <br /> as printed. Council Members Roberts and Moore abstained from the vote. <br /> MAYOR <br /> Mayor Stephanson read a letter to President Moore, City Council <br /> members, and citizens of Everett, that provided an update in the strategic <br /> process for addressing the city's growing budget deficit. The Mayor also <br /> expressed his appreciation for city employees and stated that specific <br /> outreach will be scheduled for all employee groups. <br /> COUNCIL <br /> Council Member Gipson thanked Mayor Stephanson for the report and for <br /> bringing the process forward and allowing City Council an opportunity for <br /> involvement. <br /> Council Member Roberts reported on his attendance at the National <br /> League of Cities conference last week, and he provided an update <br /> regarding the Sound Transit landslides. Council Member Roberts also <br /> reported on his attendance last evening at the comprehensive plan <br /> workshop held by the Planning Commission. <br /> Council Member Anderson thanked the Mayor for the budget report. He <br /> also congratulated the Everett Silver Tips on an excellent season and <br /> invited citizens to follow the team as they enter the playoffs. <br /> 65 <br />
