This has been clarified in the general notes on
sheet S-1.0.
• Comment Number 2 : The brace sizes have been revised so they are now in agreement on both the
foundation plan and frame elevation. The brace size is a W14x132. After the initial permit
submission, the brace frame locations have been revised to better meet the owner's needs. As such
the braces can now be found on grids F and K.
F.:
• Comment Number 3 : The load cases used in design of the system are for normal loading of the
braced bay. Case one is when the loading is balanced between tension and compression. Case two
is how we internally determine if the loading delivered to the system will cause the brace to
buckle. Case three is how we determine the maximum compression load applied to the column
using overstrength. Case four(sheet L-51 and L-52)is new and shows the maximum level of load
transferrable to the system by overturning analysis. This maximum level of load transferrable to
the system is a higher load than the overstrength load case, and was used to design the connections.
• Comment Number 4 : The brace member has been revised to W14x132 in all details. This member
is highly ductile and meets all requirements of AISC 341-16.
• Comment Number 5 : The braced frame beams have been revised to W24x84,which meets highly
ductile member requirements. The axial demand load for the frame beams is 316 kips and can be ''
found on sheet L-66 of the structural calculations.
• Comment Number 6 : Protected zones have been added to the elevation on sheet S-3.1.
• Comment Number 7 : Braced frame connection calculations have now been completed and can be
found on sheets L-66 through L-72 of the latest calculation package,
• Comment Number 8 : Panel overturning has been checked on calculation sheets L-27 through L-39
of the revised structural calculation package. The required connections to stitch the panels together
removes any individual panel overturning issues. These stitched connections are now shown on the
panel elevations as type"G" connections.
i..
