CITY OF EVERETT SPECIAL PROVISIONS <br />LS47-Beverly Lake Sewer Replacement Division 1 – GENERAL REQUIREMENTS January 30, 2025 <br />WO No – UP3529 SP – 98 <br />promptly address specific needs during construction. <br />• City’s Public Works Information & Education Officer, in coordination with the CPL, <br />shall provide notices of impending temporary closures of streets, alleys or driveways <br />that are otherwise used for access to parking lots or buildings along the area of work. <br />The text and information contained on any notices shall be jointly prepared by the <br />Construction Manager and the CPL. <br />• Contractor, in coordination with the CPL, shall provide notices to business/institution <br />owners and managers and/or affected residents of temporary shutdown of utilities. <br />The text and information contained on any notices shall be jointly prepared by the <br />Construction Manager and the CPL. <br />• Contractor and CPL shall provide assistance to business/institution owners and <br />managers and/or affected residents to minimize and mitigate impacts during <br />construction, including but not limited to; mail and package delivery, garbage and <br />recycling pickup, freight delivery, handicap parking and access, customer/patient <br />access and parking etc. <br />• Contractor and CPL will coordinate to ensure the needs of the community are <br />incorporated into the contractor’s construction schedule and timely updates furnished <br />to the public. Contractor and CPL shall coordinate with the City during special events. <br />• CPL shall have phone numbers with 24-hour telephone message capability for <br />business/institution owners and managers and/or affected residents to request <br />assistance or information regarding issues related to the construction project. <br />• CPL will maintain a written log of all communications with businesses, institutions or <br />residents that involve complaints or issues requiring response or action by the City or <br />the construction contractor. This log will be made available for review by the Owner’s <br />Representative upon request. <br /> <br />1-08 PROSECUTION AND PROGRESS <br />Supplement Section 1-08 by adding the following: <br />1-08.0 Preliminary Matters <br />1-08.0(1) Preconstruction Conference <br />Prior to the Contractor beginning the Work, a preconstruction conference will be held <br />between the Contractor, the Engineer and such other interested parties as may be <br />invited. The purpose of the preconstruction conference will be: <br />1. To review the initial progress schedule; <br />2. To establish a working understanding among the various parties associated or <br />affected by the Work; <br />3. To establish and review, at a minimum, procedures for progress payment, <br />notifications, approvals, and submittals; <br />4. To establish normal working hours for the Work; <br />5. To review safety standards and traffic control; and <br />6. To discuss such other related items as may be pertinent to the Work. <br />The Contractor shall prepare and submit at the preconstruction meeting the following: <br />1. A Schedule of Values of all lump sum items;
