737 North Line— 40-036 Tower Relocations
KPFF Proj. No. 2300708 qjffPermit Submittal
1601 Sth Avenue,Suite 1600 Structural Calculations— Design Package 36.01
Seattle,WA 98101 206 622.5822
DESIGN SUMMARY
Date: 0112312024
By: JWS
Design Cold-Formed Steel Framing Design
This section covers the gravity and lateral design of interior, non-load bearing cold-formed steel
framing to accommodate a new opening through an existing interior partition wall located in the
Level 1 Kellerman Crib area of the 40-36 building. Partition framing was assumed to span full-
height to bottom of slab above.
The new jamb, header, and above-header infill framing was designed for wall assembly self-
weight, a 16 psf wind interior pressure, and a non-concurrent 5 psf building interior pressure.
Seismic loading was calculated in accordance with ASCE 7-16 Chapter 13 provisions, though
seismic loading was determined not to control.
The following deflection criteria were imposed: L/360 for gravity loads and L/240 for lateral
loads. These design criteria meet or exceed minimum requirements noted in Boeing Everett
General Engineering Requirements Section 2.3.3.1.6.
Designs were performed using Simpson Strong-Tie CFS Designer software and are in
conformance with provisions of AISI S100-16. Jamb fastening with concrete screw anchors was
designed using Simpson Strong-Tie Anchor Designer.
Refer to the following pages for an example calculation of each component.
A01
