Certifications
The Supercharger system consists of one Supercharger Cabinet and two associated Charge Posts. This system has
been extensively tested by TUV Rheinland, which has certified the system as compliant with the following standards: IEC
61851-23:2014 / EN 61851-23:2014, UL 2202:2009 (R2012), CSA C22.2 NO. 107.1-01 (R2009), and NEC 625.
The Supercharger system is unidirectional and does not backfeed to the grid regardless of whether or not AC power is
present, due to protection diodes and the lack of internal energy storage components. Supercharger power factor is
greater than 0.99, so the load is almost purely resistive. This document covers only Supercharger system safety
mechanisms. Tesla vehicles have their own protection mechanisms, which this document does not cover in detail.
Rev. 1.0, September 2018 CONFIDENTIAL INFORMATION-SHARED UNDER NDA ONLY Page 1 of 8
