Section F: Public Realm <br /> Waterfront Place Central is a pedestrian-oriented, mixed use development with extensive <br /> public open space. Pacific Rim Plaza, Seiner Wharf, raised courtyards, view point areas, the <br /> Boxcar Park with its an outdoor performance venue, the Esplanade, Fisherman's Tribute, and <br /> other open space areas provide a connection to the environment creating a rich variety of <br /> exterior public spatial experiences for visitors, residents, and workers at Waterfront Place <br /> Central. <br /> Parks,trails, and open space for Waterfront Place Central will also: <br /> • Create the heart of the pedestrian environment- Just as sidewalks form the backbone of <br /> the pedestrian network, open space create the heart of the community and are integral to <br /> the overall site. Visitors and residents alike will come to Waterfront Place Central <br /> because of the unique urban marine environment experienced through open space. <br /> Expand and Enhance Public Open Space - These spaces shall be placed near each of the <br /> water edges of the site, and in areas with views to the water. These public spaces will <br /> be created in accordance to the development goals set forth between the Port of Everett <br /> and the City of Everett. Total space provided shall cover the agreed upon preferred site <br /> master plan. <br /> • Create the Waterfront Place Central Identity-the public realm of the community will <br /> be experienced through trails,parks, and open space. Urban Design of these areas is an <br /> essential part of the palette in creating the character of Waterfront Place Central. <br /> • Develop Livable Urban Space - Open space will help to create a livable urban space <br /> where the focus is making a place for the enjoyment and health of residents, boaters, <br /> visitors, and workers. <br /> • Make Some Spaces interactive - <br /> Some spaces shall be "interactive." <br /> 44 <br /> • Promote Sustainable and <br /> ►,# Environmentally Friendly Practices- <br /> ', will be designed to improve the <br /> 00.77--0.; k' Spacesg p <br /> 4 . rf is a health and welfare of the residents and <br /> Everett community.
