As discussed in the historical overview, <br /> this references the canvas covers that were used to cover shingle cargo in boxcars leaving Everett in the late <br /> 1890s. To the west, the patio or deck serves as a stage and spills out onto an open lawn that is sized for larger <br /> performances, concerts, community events. Posts on the water ward side provide harnesses for large sail cloth <br /> movie screens to serve as a marina drive-in theater.
