JJACOBSON
JCCONSULTING EROIREER!
In order to prevent erosion and trap sediments within the project site, the following
BMPs will be used:
• Clearing limits will be marked by fencing or other means on the ground.
• Mulch will be spread over all cleared areas of the site when they are not being
worked. Mulch will consist of air-dried straw and chipped site vegetation.
• Catch basin protection will be installed on the drainage structures downstream
of the project.
• Plastic slope covering will be utilized when appropriate
5. Maintenance and Operations —The project consists of all private drainage facilities
and therefore it is acknowledged that all Drainage facilities must be maintained and
operated in accordance with the maintenance standards.
6. Wetland Protection — As described in the downstream drainage description, a portion
of the project site discharges to an existing wetland. It is our intent that while the
project meet the requirements for Combine Sewer drainage requirements for the
portions of the site that drain directly to the combined sewer, that we also provide
wetland project for the portion of the site that drains to the wetland. Based on the
Department of Ecology drainage requirements we have described the requirements for
protecting existing wetlands below along with a description of the way we believe the
project is meeting the requirement:
General Protection (Stormwater Management Manual for Western Washington I-C.2)
All wetlands (Categories I, II, Ill and IV)must receive the following general protection:
a. Consult regulations issued under federal and state laws that regulate the discharg
e of pollutants to surface waters, including the Construction Stormwater General
NPDES Permit.
The project has reviewed regulations for stormwater discharge to surface waters, the
project is under the threshold for NPDES permit coverage for the project and will not
be pursuing NPDES coverage. Erosion control measures will be used during
construction.
b. Maintain the wetland buffer required by local and/or state regulations.
No construction activities will be completed within the wetland buffer that haven't
already been developed in previously permitted projects.
c. Retain areas of native vegetation connecting the wetland and its buffer with
nearby wetlands and other contiguous areas of native vegetation.
255 S.King Street,Suite 800,Seattle,WA 98104 I 206.426.2600 I JACOBSONENGINEERS.COM
