6. Boys and Girls Club — North Everett Club Improvements <br /> This project will leverage CDBG funds to make facility updates to improve the North Everett Club <br /> experience for youth who attend the Everett Boys & Girls Club. Specifically: <br /> s Purchase and installation of four thermostats <br /> • Replacement and installation of dishwasher <br /> Replacement and installation of ice machine <br /> Recommended 2016 CDBG Funds: $8,732.00 <br /> 7. HopeWorks— HopeWorks Station <br /> CDBG funds will be used for Architecture and Engineering for HopeWorks Station, located at 3331 <br /> Broadway. HopeWorks Station will be a workforce development center tailored for homeless and at- <br /> risk populations desiring career pathways for a stable, secure future. The facility will include three <br /> floors of residential over two floors of commercial. The 76 apartments will provide safe, secure, <br /> affordable housing with a focus on promoting employment outcomes. The commercial space will be <br /> focused on operating social enterprise businesses that offer internships, training and jobs. <br /> Recommended 2016 HOME Funds: $158,400.00 <br /> 8. CHIP - Community Housing Improvement Program Administration and Loans <br /> CHIP provides housing rehabilitation services and loans to Everett properties. Rehabilitation services <br /> (loan processing, preparation of bid specifications, selection and monitoring of contractors) are <br /> provided to homeowners and landlords whose property is located within the program boundaries. A <br /> variety of loans-(conventional,guaranteed, reduced interest, and deferred payment) are available to <br /> homeowners based on income. Due to accounting changes required by HUD all funding is put into <br /> Fund 197and is used for administration and rehabilitation projects. <br /> Recommended 2016 CDBG Funds: - $227,200.00 <br /> Recommended 2016 AHTF 2060 Funds: $69,857.00 <br /> 9. Community Development Block Grant - Administration & Planning <br /> Administration is an important aspect of the CDBG program, making sure of the timely completion of <br /> projects and proper management of sub.grantees. <br /> The planning aspect of the CDBG funding complements the physical improvements in the <br /> neighborhoods by promoting appropriate land use, historic preservation, and economic development <br /> planning. <br /> Recommended 2016 - CDBG Funds: $153,725.00 <br /> 14 . <br />
