The following conditions shall be determined as unsafe and shall be repaired or replaced to comply with <br />the International Building Code or the International Existing Building Code as required for existing <br />buildings: <br />5. Structural members that have evidence of deterioration or that are not capable of safely supporting all <br />nominal loads and load effects;. <br />12. Exterior stairs, decks, porches, balconies and all similar appurtenances not structurally sound or not <br />properly anchored, or that are anchored with connections not capable of supporting all nominal loads <br />and resisting all load effects. <br />IPMC 108.1.1 Unsafe structures. <br />An unsafe structure is one that is found to be dangerous to the life, health, property or safety of the <br />public or the occupants of the structure by not providing minimum safeguards to protect or warn <br />occupants in the event of fire, or because such structure contains unsafe equipment or is so damaged, <br />decayed, dilapidated, structurally unsafe or of such faulty construction or unstable foundation, that <br />partial or complete collapse is possible. <br />IPMC 106.1 Unlawful acts. <br />It shall be unlawful for a person, firm or corporation to be in conflict with or in violation of any of the <br />provisions of this code. <br />CORRECTIVE ACTIONS REQUIRED: By 6/21/2023, the Responsible Person(s) shall take the following actions <br />to correct the Code Violations at the Property: <br />• Contact the City of Everett Building Department located at 3200 Cedar Street and apply for and <br />obtain all of the necessary and required permits to bring the structure(s) or property into <br />compliance with the Everett Municipal Code or demolish. You shall then correct and complete <br />all of the deficiencies that are present within the structure(s) and have the work inspected and <br />approved, by the Everett City Building Division. <br />Please visit Permit Services' webpage at everettwa.gov/permits to learn about the permitting <br />process, obtain permit applications and submittal checklists, and follow the instructions for <br />submitting your complete permit application to the Drop Box for Permit Intake. Any questions <br />can be directed to PermitServices@everettwa.gov. <br />Note that the required permits (if applicable) to perform the corrective or abatement action must be <br />obtained from the proper issuing agency. <br />CIVIL PENALTIES: If the corrective action is not completed, a monetary penalty in the amount of $250 may <br />accrue for each day or portion thereof that each violation continues beyond the date for compliance, <br />until compliance is achieved. <br />COST OF ENFORCEMENT: Per EMC 1.20.180, the City is authorized to recover any and all costs of <br />enforcement related to ensuring the Property is brought into compliance. <br />Corrective Action Notice Page 2 of 3 <br />
