4 8`�`-, <br /> ORDINANC7 NO e-+ l <br /> An ordinance relating to the weighing, measuring, and in- <br /> specting of commodities sold or offered for sale by weight or measure <br /> within the city of Everett, and providing for appointment of weigh- <br /> masters. <br /> THE CITY OF Ei',VERETT DOES ORDAIN: <br /> Section 1: That the commissioner of public works shall be <br /> ex officio superintendent of weights and measures. He shall have <br /> supervision and control of all matters relating to weights and measures <br /> and shall be charged with the informatiat: of the provisions of law, the <br /> charter, and the ordinances of the city of Everett relating thereto . <br /> He shall appoint official weigher* as ne4,06ity may demand the same,who <br /> shall receive such compensation as the council may by resolution fix. <br /> Section 2: Upon the applicat iOn sof any person, firm c)r <br /> corporation in the city of Everett, the superintendent of weights and <br /> ,:measures may assign an official weigher or weighers to weigh or meas- <br /> ure any commodity or commodities being sold,bought, or in process of <br /> ` delivery by such person, firm or corporation, and furnish certificates <br /> ` of weight o; measure thereof. <br /> section 3 : That any person, firm or corporation so requesting <br /> the services of an official weigher or weighers shall pay to the city <br /> treasurer for the cervices ho rendered by such official; weigher or <br /> weighers such ^um as the council may fix by resolution as the reason- <br /> able price for such weighing or measuring, and such person, firm or <br /> corporation shall not be entitled to a certificate of weight or measure <br /> until rsaid moneys shall have been paid to the city -treasurer. <br /> Passed _ y rt 1918 <br /> AdoOF <br /> Attest <br /> City Jerk. <br /> Published BRAY 2 1918 <br />
