i t s • , , • i <br /> ORDINANCE NO. i&24 <br /> An ordinance for the suppression of venereal diseases; pre- <br /> scribing a penalty for the violation thereof; and declaring an <br /> emergency. <br /> THE CITY OF EVERETT DOES ORDAIN: <br /> Section 1:VENEREAL DISEASES DANGEROUS TO PUBLIC HEALTH: Syphilis, <br /> gonorrhoea and ohancroid, hereinafter designated venereal diseases, <br /> are hereby recognized and declared to be contagious, infectious, com- <br /> municable and dangerous to the public health. <br /> Section 2: VENEREAL DISEASES TO BE REPORTED: It shall be the <br /> duty of every licensed physician, of every superintendent or manager <br /> of a hospital or dispensary, and of every person who gives treatment <br /> for a venereal disease, to mail to the Health Officer of the city of <br /> Everett a card supplied by said Health Officer, stating the age, <br /> sex, color, marital condition and occupation of such diseased person, <br /> the nature and previous duration of such disease and its probable <br /> origin; such card to be mailed within three days after the first <br /> examination of such diseased person; provided, that except as herein- <br /> after required the name and address of such diseased person shall not <br /> be reported to the health officer. <br /> Section 3: PERSONS AFFLICTED PITH VENEREAL DISEASES TO BE GIVEN <br /> A CIRCULAR OF INFORMATION: It shall be the duty of every licensed <br /> physician and of every Other person who treats a person afflicted <br /> with venereal disease to give to such person at the first examination <br /> a circular of information and advice concerning venereal diseases, <br /> furnished by the Health Officer, and in addition to give to such <br /> diseased person a copy of this ordinance, and to report to the <br /> Health Officer that such diseased person has received the two docu- <br /> ments herein specified. <br /> Section 4: CHANGE OF PHYSICIAN TO BE REPORTED BY PATIENT TO <br /> PHYSICIAN FIRST CONSULTED: When a person applies to a physician <br /> or other person for treatment of a venereal disease it shall be <br />
