SNO-ISLE TECH 2O23 SMALL WORKS <br />McGRANAHAN ARCHITECTS <br />Section 00 09 50, Page 1 <br />APPRENTICESHIP GOALS <br />AND RELATED REQUIREMENTS <br />APPRENTICESHIP GOALS AND RELATED REQUIREMENTS <br />Contractor and its Subcontractors are expected to have goals of using apprentices to perform no less than fifteen <br />percent (15%) of the total hours of workers receiving an hourly wage who are directly employed on the site of the <br />Project. Hours of work include hours performed by workers employed by Contractor and All of its Subcontractors of <br />any tier working on the Project, but do not include hours worked by foremen, superintendents, owners, and workers <br />who are not subject to prevailing wage requirements. As used in this section, the term "apprentice" means an <br />apprentice enrolled in a state -approved apprenticeship training program. Contractor and its Subcontractors shall not <br />be required to exceed the specified apprenticeship utilization goals. <br />A. Contractor is responsible for monitoring Project compliance with the apprenticeship utilization goals and <br />related requirements specified in this Section, which should be met. The monetary incentive amount for <br />meeting the apprentice utilization goals on this Project is $1,000 and the monetary penalty amount for <br />failing to meet the apprentice utilization goals for this Project is $1,000. The amount of the expected cost <br />value for meeting the apprentice utilization goals shall be provided by each prime bidder on the Bid <br />Form. <br />1. Contractor shall create and maintain for three years following final completion of the Project, and <br />provide copies to Owner when and as requested, the following documentation concerning the <br />requirements of this section: <br />a. Records of each of its efforts to comply in good faith with the apprentice utilization <br />requirement, including without limitation documentation of its outreach efforts to encourage <br />participation by apprentices in the Project; <br />b. The name and registration number of each apprentice who works on the Project site; <br />C. The number of apprentices and the number of labor hours worked by them on the Project <br />site, categorized by trade or craft; and <br />d. The number of journey level workers and the number of labor hours worked by them on the <br />Project site, categorized by trade or craft. <br />' B. By the time of final acceptance of the Project, the District shall report apprenticeship utilization by the <br />Contractor and its Subcontractors to the supervisor of apprenticeship at the Department of Labor and <br />Industries. <br />C. The District may adjust the goals and/or requirements for utilization of apprentices imposed by this <br />section only if Contractor establishes, to the satisfaction of the District, the existence of one or more of <br />the following reasons: <br />1. Demonstrated lack of availability of apprentices in the geographic area located within fifty miles <br />of the Project site; <br />mcg-ARC 2120.000 February 28, 2023 <br />
