Project Description <br /> This project involves a remodel to an existing single-family residence.The existing residence is <br /> 2-stories with a split-level entry.The existing roof is framed with wood rafters supported on <br /> wood beams, headers,posts,and stud walls.The existing floor is assumed to be wood framed <br /> and the existing foundation at the garage is assumed to consist of a slab on grade and <br /> conventional concrete foundations.The floor framing and foundation will be field verified by <br /> the contractor prior to design.The remodel involves the removal of an interior post in the <br /> garage.A new wood or steel beam supported on wood posts at each end will be required to <br /> support the existing roof and floor framing above.
