These items are required in addition to the items listed in Section 4.4, work to be <br />performed under existing conditions. Compliance monitoring and contingency plan <br />requirements are defined in detail in the associated CMCP for the Site. <br />WORK TO BE PERFORMED CHECKLIST <br />FOR THE <br />CLEANUP ACTIONS FOR FUTURE CONDITIONS <br />Gas Exposure Pathway <br />Design, design review, construction, operation and maintenance of phased active <br />landfill gas control systems for buildings, pavement and open space as development <br />occurs. This includes pavement permeability testing in accordance with an approved <br />construction quality assurance plan. <br />Installation of continuous monitors and controllers in all ground floor rooms of any new <br />building. Calibration and maintenance in accordance with manufacturer's <br />recommendations. <br />Confirmational monitoring of landfill gas discharge locations. <br />Hand-held monitoring of buildings, pavement, open space areas, and enclosed spaces <br />in accordance with the compliance monitoring plan. <br />Permit and comply with permit requirements for regulated landfill gas discharges. <br />Institutional control prohibiting overnight camping. <br />Groundwater Exposure Pathway <br />Continued operation and maintenance of the leachate collection system <br />Compliance monitoring includes deep aquifer groundwater quality monitoring as well <br />as monitoring of water levels in leachate collection system and shallow aquifer east of <br />leachate collection trench <br />Maintenance and grading of surface topography in undeveloped areas to maintain <br />positive drainage. <br />Maintenance of landfill developed area covers (hydraulic barrier beneath landscaping, <br />pavements, building slabs) <br />Institutional controls to prevent groundwater withdrawal other than for leachate <br />collection or monitoring <br />Restrictions against infiltration of collected stormwater, including requiring leak -tight <br />joint for conveyance piping <br />FINAL - March 2001 6-8 Everett Landfill Tire Fire Site <br />Cleanup Action Plan <br />
