This land use distribution was a result of <br />analysis of the urban form policies, existing land use <br />and zoning, development trends, anticipated land use <br />needs and desirable growth and development goals. <br />Various types of zoning and land use may be permitted <br />within each of the designations. The map is to be used <br />in conjunction with the adopted policies of the <br />Comprehensive Plan for any land use decision. <br />The land use designations are established by adoption <br />of the Comprehensive Plan and amendments thereof. <br />The Future Land Use Map is the official land use map of <br />the city and is maintained by the Planning Department <br />in an electronic format to facilitate its accurate use and <br />implementation. <br />The Future Land Use Map and the designations in the <br />table below provide a basis for applying zoning districts <br />and for making land use decisions. Policies should be <br />considered and interpreted in accordance with the <br />geographic characteristics of the mapped areas. It <br />depicts the relationship between the land use <br />designations and zoning classifications, as well as sample illustrations. <br />Comprehensive Plan Future Land Use Designations and Proposed Zoning <br /> <br />Re <br />s <br />i <br />d <br />e <br />n <br />t <br />i <br />a <br />l <br /> Neighborhood Residential <br />– Constrained <br />The purpose is to provide for <br />housing and complementary uses at <br />a lower urban residential scale in <br />areas that have limited access and <br />adjacent to wooded areas. <br />Corresponding Zoning: <br />NR-C
