ORDINANCE NO. 789 <br /> An ordinance relating to the selling and keeping for sale, <br /> within the city of Everett, of explosives and fire-arms, and <br /> declaring an emergency. <br /> THE CITY OF EVERETT DOES ORDAIN: <br /> Section 1: Every person, firm or corporation within the <br /> city of Everett engaged in the business of selling or keeping for <br /> sale fire-arms, ammunition, or explosives, shall, within ten days <br /> of the date when this ordinance becomes effective, furnish a report <br /> to the Chief of Police of Everett showing the amount of such fire- <br /> arms, ammunition or explosives on hand at the date of said report; <br /> the calibre, bore and make of all fire-arms in said stock; the <br /> number of such fire-arms that are new and the number which have <br /> been used; and shall make daily repor.ce to the said Chief of Police <br /> of all sales of fire-arms made by them; provided, however, that on <br /> days when no sales of fire-arms are made no report shall be requir- <br /> ed. <br /> Section 2: Every person, firm or corporation within the <br /> city of Everett selling any fire-arms, ammunition or explosives, <br /> shall keep a record of such sales, which shall show the name and <br /> address of each person purchasing fire-arms, ammunition or explos- <br /> ives, and shall, within twentyfour hours after said sale, report <br /> the same to the Chief of Police, stating the name of the purchaser; <br /> his or her address; the make, calibre, or bore, and number, of <br /> each fire-arm sold; the quantity and description of all aumunition <br /> and explosives sold. <br /> Section 3: No person, firm or corporation within said <br /> city, shall sell any fire-arm or ammunition therefor, to any per- <br /> son unknown to said seller, or whose name does not appear in the <br /> last directory of Everett, except upon per Fission received from <br /> the Chief of Police of said city. <br />
