HIGH SCHOOL TRACK REPLACEMENT PROJECTS CASCADE HS&JACKSON HS <br /> EVERETT PUBLIC SCHOOLS 4/3/2012 <br /> 2. Should any defacement or damage occur, repair or replace as directed at Contractors <br /> expense. <br /> 3.03 AGGREGATE BASE INSTALLATION <br /> A. Place aggregate base in accordance with Section 4-04 of the WSDOT-APWA. Relative <br /> dry compaction shall be a minimum of 95 percent of modified proctor maximum dry <br /> density as determined in accordance with ASTM D1557. <br /> B. Prior to asphalt concrete placement, treat the aggregate base with the approved soil <br /> sterilant as per manufacturers recommendations. <br /> 3.04 ASPHALT CONCRETE <br /> A. Place asphalt in accordance with Section 5-04 of WSDOT-APWA. Spread, finish and <br /> compact in accordance with Sections 5-04.3(9)and 5-04.3(10). <br /> B. Construct joints in accordance with Section 5-04.3(11). <br /> I. Provide surface smoothness and grading in accordance with Section 5-04.3(13). The <br /> running track pavement shall be sloped evenly per the plans to allow for drainage. <br /> Surface shall have a smooth texture and no grade deficiencies. Allowable tolerance <br /> shall be no more than '/a"in a 10' in any direction from the track limits. <br /> 2. Accomplish paving in accordance with the weather limitations outlined in Section 5- <br /> 04.3(16). <br /> 3. Sample and test asphalt concrete in accordance with Sections 5-04.3(10) B and 5- <br /> 04.3(12). <br /> 4. Contractor shall completely flood by fire line or tank truck paved area in the <br /> presence of the owner's representative to verify that no ponding occurs. Any areas of <br /> birdbaths or ponding must be repaired or replaced in accordance with the Asphalt <br /> Institute's"Asphalt in paving Maintenance"Manual Series No. 16. <br /> 5. All birdbath or pooling areas shall be brought to design grade with approved <br /> asphaltic concrete mixture. All high spots shall be worked to design grade with the <br /> use of approved machinery for this purpose. All areas determined by Landscape <br /> Architect to be too high or low for shall be removed and replaced to proper design <br /> elevation and grade. Contractor shall apply a seal coat after this remedial work to <br /> give the track a uniform finish look. All remedial work shall be done at no extra cost <br /> to Owner. <br /> 4.01 CLEANING <br /> A. After completion of paving operations,clean surfaces of excess or spilled asphaltic <br /> materials. <br /> B. Do not permit vehicular traffic on asphaltic paving until it has cooled and hardened, and <br /> in no case sooner than twelve(12)hours after placing. <br /> END OF SECTION—32 12 00 ASPHALT <br /> ASPHALT 12 12 00-4 <br />
